Program Coordinator

Vader
Green is the Program Coordinator for the Police Athletic League of St.
Petersburg. Coach Green interacts with all the children in the program
providing leadership and guidance with the hope of assisting the next
generation of leaders with making the right choices today. He feels that
Herbert Hoover said it best when he stated that “Children are our most
valuable natural resource.”

After School Program

|
Homework time, math, reading
and computer labs, basketball, kickball, flag football, dodge ball,
jump-rope games and movie time.

Basketball

|
Both boys and girls teams are
offered, serving youth between the ages of 7 and 17.
|
|
Boy Scouts

|
PAL officially charters Boy
Scout Troop 312 for boys between the ages of 11 and 17. Weekly meetings
and activities such as canoeing, biking, camping, and week-end outings
build character and strength. PAL kids become Eagle Scouts in greater
proportion than children from any other similar organization.

Cheerleading

|
Girls ages 7 through 14 learn
jumps, tumbling and dancing.

|
Computer Program

|
Software and internet sites
help teach keyboarding and other computer skills while supporting math
and reading abilities.
|
|
Flag Football

|
Both boys and girls teams are
offered, serving youth between the ages of 9 and 14.
|
|
Summer Camp

|
Students in grades 1 through 9
enjoy use of all facilities, including the computer lab and math and
reading programs, along with field trips and other social activities.

|
Track & Field

|
Boys and girls participate in
traditional activities such as long jump, shot put and hurdlers. They
compete at local, state and national track meets, up to and including the
annual PAL State Championships and the AAU Junior Olympics. Registration
is currently in progress. Packages can be downloaded and filled out.
Practice for the 2009 season begins on January 26, 2009.

Youth Directors Program

|
A young-governed program that promotes
learning, encourages a sense of community, and provides opportunities for
personal development (middle-and high-school-aged youth).
